ounded in 1565 by the Spanish the nations oldest city of St. Augustine in St.
Johns County is located 45 miles south of Jacksonville and 50 miles north of Daytona.
A year round mild climate, 43 miles of beaches and a lifestyle only a few other cities
can duplicate make St. Augustine a place for anyone to live. St. Augustine's Spanish
influence is evident in the beautiful architecture, street names, art, and food.

section of St. Johns County is the home of the PGA Tour Headquarters where The Players
Championship is played every March. The ATP Tour International Headquarters also
known as the Association of Tennis Professionals is also located in St. Johns County
with a newly expanded complex where the tournament players can practice on 11 courts
specifically built to emulate the variety of court surfaces found at the Grand Slam
Tournaments. In 1994 work began on the World Golf Village, a major development which
will include the World Golf Hall of Fame, a Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Facility,
facilities for the PGA Tour Production Inc., a deluxe hotel/ convention center and
many other amenities. This will help to boost St. Augustine's tourism from 1.5 million
visitors a year to 3 million a year. In addition to golf and tennis St. Johns County
is home to the $1 million St. Augustine Speedway which is host to many national championship
races throughout the year.
St. Johns County's current population is 105,000 with 12,000 people living within
the city limits of St. Augustine. New families move into the area at a rate of 1,078
annually. St. Johns County was recently named among America's hottest counties by
American Demographics Magazine and ranked 8th of 67 other counties in the state in
buying power. St. Augustine's rich history and cultural diversity has helped shape
a dynamic city for both residents and tourists alike. St. Augustine has more than
50 attractions, historical sites, and points of interest. A full range of accommodations
from fine resorts to over 25 bed and breakfast inns. With 15 of the top 100 restaurants
